FAYETTEVILLE, AR – A pedestrian was injured in a collision with a vehicle in Fayetteville Monday evening, KFSM reports.

Police responded to the scene in the area of 3400 East Huntsville Road after the incident occurred at about 5:41 p.m.  Investigators said the victim was a 55-year-old woman who was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Her name was not released.

The vehicle was driven by a 23-year-old who was not injured.  The driver said they did not see the woman because the road was dark at the time.

MARVELL, AR – Arkansas State Police said a driver died after her car crashed into a truck on Sunday afternoon, the Daily Citizen reports.

The victim was identified as 48-year-old Annie Irene Lowery of Searcy.  She was driving a Hyundai Sonata when she was involved in the accident on U.S. Highway 49 north of Marvell in Phillips County. According to investigators, Lowery was heading south when she veered into the northbound lane and slammed into the front of a 2017 Freightliner.

Lowery sustained fatal injuries in the wreck, while two minors were transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for treatment of their injuries. No details were released on their conditions.

INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, AR – A couple is facing charges in connection with an all-terrain vehicle crash that killed their daughter in September, according to White River Now.

The incident occurred at the intersection of State Highway 25 Spur and Center Grove Road on Sept. 6. 34-year-old Daniel Wesley Aldrich was driving an ATV that crashed at that location.  His 5-year-old daughter, a back-seat passenger, was critically injured and taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities said Aldrich and 33-year-old Jennifer Grace Aldrich, a front-seat passenger in the vehicle, both showed signs of intoxication.  A blood test on Daniel showed his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, AR – Authorities say an Independence County Sheriff’s Deputy died in a car accident early Thursday morning, reports White River Now.

According to Arkansas State Police, Deputy Frank Ramirez was on duty while driving his Dodge Charger east on State Highway 14 when the wreck took place at about 12:50 a.m.

Investigators said the 29-year-old Ramirez was navigating a left curve when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed, sustaining fatal injuries.  The roadway was wet at the time from rain, police said.

SEARCY, AR – A collision in Searcy Monday evening claimed the life of a motorcycle rider, according to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

Police said the incident occurred on Market Street just after 6:30 p.m. Investigators determined that 23-year-old Tanner Neal of Searcy was driving a Suzuki Kawasaki when he failed to yield the right of way to a northbound Toyota Corolla.

The vehicles collided and Neal was transported to Unity Health, where he was pronounced dead.

MOUNTAIN HOME, AR – Arkansas State Police say the driver of a pickup truck died when his vehicle was involved in an accident in Baxter County Sunday morning.

According to KAIT, the crash took place on the U.S. 62 bypass near Buzzard Roost Road in Mountain Home shortly after 4 a.m.

State troopers say 38-year-old Joshua Jones of Gassville was driving a Chevrolet Silverado east when he ran off the road.  The vehicle began to spin, then overturned and ended up in a ditch.  Jones sustained fatal injuries in the wreck.

PULASKI COUNTY, AR – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in Pulaski County early Monday morning, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reports.

The accident happened on Interstate 40 west near the exit for Arkansas 365 shortly before 4:10 a.m.  State troopers said 34-year-old John Alvares Ribeiro of Little Rock was hit by a westbound Chrysler minivan and sustained fatal injuries.  It was not immediately clear why Ribeiro was in the roadway at the time.

The minivan driver, a 44-year-old woman from Mayflower, was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center in Conway. No details were immediately released on her condition.

MONTICELLO, AR – Authorities said an elderly woman died after being hit by a vehicle in a store parking lot in Drew County Friday afternoon, reports the Deltaplex News.

The accident happened at a Walmart on Highway 425 in Monticello at about 3:00 p.m.  The Arkansas State Police said a man driving a Nissan Sentra was pulling out of a parking space when he collided with five parked vehicles and struck a woman who was unloading a cart outside one of the vehicles.

The woman, identified as 86-year-old Esther M. Hudson of Monticello, was pronounced dead after being transported to Drew Memorial Hospital. No other injuries were reported in the crash. The driver of the Nissan has not yet been identified.

LAWRENCE CO., AR – A 10-year-old child was killed and four other individuals were sent to the hospital following a major 3-vehicle crash in Lawrence County yesterday.

According to a report by KAIT, the crash took place at about 5:16 p.m along Highway 63.

Investigators believe a Nissan Maxima driven by 36-year-old Matthew Simmons was passing a GMC pickup truck when it struck the front passenger’s side of the pickup.

FORT SMITH, AR – One person was killed and another suffered injuries resulting from a single-vehicle crash in downtown Fort Smith on Sunday morning.

According to a report by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the crash took place at about 4:10 a.m. within the 1600 block of N. 52nd Street, near the intersection with O Street.

One occupant was killed in the crash, they have since been identified as 20-year-old Anahy Ibarra. A juvenile male suffered injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
