News: Rollover crash on Interstate 530 kills 1, injures 2

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Arkansas State Police say a car accident on Interstate 530 Tuesday left two people dead and another injured.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the driver of a 2006 Nissan was headed south at about 2 p.m. when the car went off the roadway and hit a cable barrier near the exit for Dixon Road. The vehicle crossed both southbound lanes, rolled over and crashed into a tree.

Two passengers in the Nissan, identified as 85-year-old John Howell and 69-year-old Shirley White Banks, sustained fatal injuries. Both were Pine Bluff residents.

The driver, a 69-year-old woman from Pine Bluff was injured and hospitalized in Little Rock.
